This site was acquired in 2022 and will be our second Passivhaus housing development, expanding on our learnings from previous schemes and helping realize our ambition to deliver the Passivhaus standard at scale. The scheme, which comprises of 23 houses across 6 blocks, is due to start on site mid-2025.
The site was acquired with a lapsed planning for 24 houses. We revisited the planning, resolving many of the historical highways and drainage issues, and reduced the density to ensure all units met design quality standards. Furthermore, we referenced the form and materiality of the neighboring grade II listed converted Victorian hospital, which we had previously undertaken an extensive energy retrofit of. As with all our schemes, we undertook early-stage building performance modelling to ensure that the project would meet our ambitious energy standards.
Construction is programmed for mid-2025.
